New AR Upgrades and Pistols Announced This Fall
As of October 10, 2026, three items have been announced that Texas buyers may want to follow: a complete upper for AR owners, a custom Steyr-based pistol, and a new pistol series from CZ. Each section below covers what the item is, what the maker's announcement says about it, and what is still unknown. Use the search box in the menu to look up any model in our catalog.
PWS MK2 MOD 2 Complete Uppers
The PWS MK2 MOD 2 Complete Upper was announced on October 1, 2026. A complete upper is the assembled top half of an AR-style rifle, usually with the barrel, handguard and bolt carrier group already fitted, so an owner can put it on a lower receiver they already have.
The main point of this release is the gas system. The upper is offered as a way for AR owners to move to a long-stroke piston system. Most AR rifles use direct impingement, where gas from the barrel travels back through a tube into the bolt carrier. A piston design uses a separate piston instead, and some owners choose it for a different feel and a different cleaning routine.
The announcement gives no price for this upper, so we do not quote one, and no release date beyond the announcement date. If you are considering a piston upper, confirm the model name, the caliber and the barrel length against your lower receiver before you order.
Langdon Tactical Technology LTT Steyr ATD
Langdon Tactical Technology, usually called LTT, announced the Steyr ATD pistol on October 2, 2026. The ATD is a Steyr pistol with a double-action/single-action trigger, and LTT has added custom work to it.
A DA/SA trigger works differently from a single-action trigger. The first pull on a chambered gun is longer and heavier, and later shots use a shorter single-action pull. Anyone new to this type of trigger should practice with it before carrying the pistol.
The announcement gives no price for the ATD and no release date. We have not seen a full list of the custom changes, so we do not describe them here.
CZ DUTY Pistol Series
CZ has introduced a pistol series called DUTY. Gun Digest published a first look on October 7, 2026. That first look is our only source for the series, and it gives no price, caliber list or release date.
We will not guess at specifications until the maker or a reviewer publishes them. When a DUTY model is listed in our catalog, it will appear in search like any other product.
Three Checks Before You Buy Any New Model
These checks apply to any new firearm or upper. First, match the part to the gun you own, including the lower receiver, the barrel length and the caliber. Second, plan the transfer. Guns ship to a local licensed dealer, who completes the federal Form 4473 and the background check before you take the firearm home, and the dealer sets its own transfer fee. Third, check the rules that apply where you live before you order, since state and local requirements differ.
