The Savage Axis XP Compact is a bolt-action .308 Win. hunting rifle with a 20-inch sporter-contour barrel, matte black metal and a black polymer stock, sold as a package with a Viridian Infinite Eon 3-9x40 scope already on top. It is the Compact version of the Axis line. This listing carries a Used grade in the specs, but the supplier's text calls it NEW and uses a stock photograph, so confirm which you are getting.

.308 Win. is a straightforward deer cartridge for the North Zone general season, which runs November 7, 2026 through January 3, 2027 around Houston, with the muzzleloader and late seasons following until January 17. The bag is four deer, no more than two bucks, and a centerfire bolt gun clears the rule that keeps rimfire off deer. With the scope already mounted, a smaller-framed hunter can go from the box to zeroing in one range trip.
