This German sword carries an etched blade marked WK&C with the maker's trademark on one side and Mohr & Spe Strassburg i/E on the other. The hilt is brass, and one side of the guard folds down. The grip is wire wrapped. Blade length is 30 3/4 inches and the sword measures 36 1/2 inches overall. A leather scabbard comes with it and is rated very good, while the sword as a whole is graded excellent. Stock number SW1037, listed used.

For a Texas collector of European military swords this is a clean, complete example with the right things to study: the etched blade, the two different markings, and the folding guard, a feature on a brass hilt that is worth checking for movement and fit. The wire-wrapped grip and the leather scabbard complete the set. Condition is excellent overall, so this is a display piece as it stands.
