A second-generation Colt, serial 53687SA, made in 1970 and later converted to chamber .44 Russian and .44 Smith & Wesson Special, with a 7.5-inch barrel. Condition is excellent, with most of the blue and case-hardened finish intact. The grips are checkered mammoth ivory with a star on each side, and they are in exceptional shape.

This is a custom collector's Colt for a Texas buyer who appreciates a well-executed conversion, rather than a carry or home-defense gun. It is bought like any other handgun in Texas: photo ID and Form 4473 at a licensed dealer, a NICS check or a current License to Carry in its place, and no state permit, registration or waiting period. Private sales between Texas residents need no state check, but a dealer transfer is how this one arrives, and that is the right way to document a piece with this much work in it.
